Hello Friends
Well, March came in like a lion, and has been demonstrating its ferocious roar! Those storms that blew
through last week were crazy—leaving behind widespread damage, destruction, and causing lengthy
power outages. We hope you were spared from serious damage. The shop fared well, other than being
without power until Sunday afternoon. That was a long time without a sewing machine! We are eagerly
awaiting March’s transformation from lion to lamb! We are ready for a gentler spring!

UFO CLUB ANNOUNCEMENT:
We had to cancel our March meeting due to the power outage in Trenton. Our project number for this
month is #2. Please be prepared to present March’s and April’s completed projects at our meeting on
April 1 st . Due to time constraints, we will only show our UFO’s and no extra show-and-tell projects. See
you then! (And no April Fools jokes, please!)

 POPPINS BAG: Saturday and Sunday, March 18 & 19 th , from 9-5. $40.
Like its namesake, the Poppins Bag can hold lots of magical surprises! Join Sammie as she guides you
through the construction of this amazing bag. For further interest, choose a panel for the outside fabric!
DAZZLE KALEIDOSCOPE: Saturday and Sunday, March 25 & 26 th , from 9-5. $40**
With a little magical cutting and sewing, you can create an amazing quilt that looks a lot harder than it
is! Denise will walk you through the construction process--don't worry, you CAN do it! **You must pre-
purchase a kit for this class in your desired colorway: blue, multi-color, or purple. Limited quantities
available, so sign up early to ensure you get the colorway you want!
SEWING MACHINE 101: Saturday, April 1 st , from 1-5. $20.
The first step in sewing is to learn the basic functions of your machine! Denise will walk you through the
basics of your sewing machine, from threading it, to adjusting the tension, to sewing an accurate ¼ inch
seam. Benefit from her decades of sewing professionally as she offers tips and techniques that you will
use for years to come! **This class is a pre-requisite for Quilting 101. If you are taking the spring session
of Quilting 101, make sure you sign up for this class as well.
QUILTING 101: begins Tuesday, April 11 th , from 5-9 pm. Class will meet on Tuesday
and Thursday evenings through the end of April, and one Saturday session on April 29 th , from 10-4. $90 +
supplies.
This wildly popular class is the perfect opportunity for you to learn to quilt. The project made during this
class is a skill-building sampler class. After completing this class, you will be able to independently tackle
nearly any quilt project! Denise is an amazing teacher! Students will receive a 10% discount on all
products purchased in-store during the time frame of the class. Students MUST take the Sewing
Machine class on April 1st and must schedule their first private lesson (fabric selection) the week prior
to the first class meeting.
ABC CHILD’S BOOK: Saturday, April 8 th , from 10-5. $20.
We have some amazing book panels! Choose one of them and join Denise as she walks you through the
construction of what will be a treasured heirloom book.
BENCH PILLOW W/PIPING: Saturday, April 15 th , from 10-5. $20.
You must have purchased, pieced and quilted one of our bench pillow kits. Bring your finished top and
learn how to turn it into a professional-looking pillow with piping! You will be guided through the
construction by a pro--Denise!
RADIANT QUILT: Saturday & Sunday, May 13 & 14 th , from 9-5. $40.
An amazingly simple quilt with incredible results. This is the perfect quilt for a confident beginner or a
seasoned sewist! Sammie will walk you through its construction and will offer alternate setting
suggestions.
WATERFALL QUILT (Log Cabin): Saturday, June 10 th , from 10-12; Friday & Saturday,
June 16 & 17 th , from 9-4. $40.
The log cabin is the most basic of quilts, and can be set in a myriad of different ways. This particular
setting yields a three-dimensional, waterfall illusion. Don’t purchase your fabrics until the first class.
Nancy will teach you how to choose fabrics to achieve the desired effect.
BLOCK OF THE MONTH PROGRAMS:
ASPIRING STARS BOM: This program is a skill building BOM program that uses the
most basic of the Studio 180 tools: Tucker Trimmer, V-Block, Square-Squared, Wing Clipper, and Rapid
Fire Lemoyne Star. Many of you already own some or all of these tools. Now let’s use them! If you are
not already familiar with the tools, never fear! Justine will offer a guidance class on the 4 th Saturday of
each month, teaching the required techniques and walking you through the construction of the month’s
block. You will purchase upfront a half-yard bundle and a background of your choice. Then you will pick
up your block pattern each month. This program will begin in April.
ARABELLA BOM: From the palest of greens to the deepest of blues, the Timeless
Treasures Tonga Batiks Arabella collection features the colors of precious jewels, including sapphires,
rubies and aquamarines. The 108” square quilt uses traditional piecing techniques. This program will
begin in May. Watch for details in store and in our next newsletter.
CLUBS:
Handwork Group: 1 st Tuesday of each month, 10-2
Join together with other folks who enjoy hand stitching--embroidery, applique, English paper piecing,
etc... There will be a time of stitching, a time of sharing, and a time of learning.
Quilts of Valor: 2 nd Tuesday of each month, 10-2
QOV is an organization whose goal is to wrap every Veteran who has been touched by war in a quilt to
honor his/her service to our country. Our group works diligently to make quilts that will then be
awarded to service men and women who have been nominated for a Quilt of Valor.
UFO CLUB: 1 st Saturday of each month, 9-10
We all have unfinished projects lying around. Well, it’s time to get some of them done! Join us for
accountability and inspiration as we show what we have been working on each month. See our website
or our store for more details and to submit your list.
