News from Quilt and Sew March 2020

News from Quilt and Sew

Dear Quilt & Sew Friends,

First of all, I sincerely hope that each of you is well. You are so much more than customers—you are friends and family! You are continually in my thoughts and prayers as we all face our fears and struggles in these uncertain times. As quilters, we are part of a larger community. Let me encourage each of you to reach out to fellow quilting friends to see if they need anything. Offer to pick something up for those who are choosing to stay in. Social distancing doesn’t have to mean social isolation!

Many of you are finding yourselves unexpectedly spending LOTS of time at home and are using your current confinement for some much-needed fabric therapy! In the past few days, we have had quite a few customers coming in who find themselves running short of fabric or supplies needed to complete their sewing projects. We want you to know that we are here for you! Quilt & Sew will remain open during this pandemic, if we are permitted to do so, for as long as we feel we can safely be open. We do, however, respectfully ask that you only visit the store if you and everyone in your home are healthy and symptom free. We care about our customers and staff and want everyone to stay healthy!

For those of you who choose not to venture out, we are here for you, too! Feel free to call or email us and let us know what you need. We will gladly ship supplies to you! Or, if you call and pay by phone, you can pick it up curbside. We hope to offer some “Self-Isolation Sales” during this time. Watch your email for our newsletters and check our Facebook page frequently for surprises. Feel free to call us with “quilting emergency” questions, too. We will do our best to help you in any way possible!

Currently, we still plan to have our classroom open for the mini retreat next weekend (March 27-29). However, we will be strictly limiting the number of participants. YOU MUST CALL AND RESERVE A SPOT IN ADVANCE! We will not permit more than 10 in the classroom, in compliance with our government’s guidelines on group sizes and social distancing. And, again, please do not come if you are exhibiting any symptoms (cough, fever, sneezing), even if you are sure it is only allergies. We want all participants to feel as comfortable and as safe as possible.

Our Mystery BOM will be available for pickup on Saturday, March 21. Please share photos of your completed blocks on our Facebook page to encourage a little friendly competition to get them completed.

I know our UFO meeting is coming up, along with a Tucker University class on Advanced Lemoyne Star techniques and a Poppins Bag class. We are closely monitoring the coronavirus pandemic situation as it evolves daily. By April 1st, we will make an informed decision regarding whether or not we can safely hold these upcoming events.

In the meantime, dear friends, we will get through this! Stay strong, stay calm, stay faithful, and stay healthy! Continue to check on friends, neighbors, and loved ones. Together we will overcome. My thoughts and prayers are with you all as we weather this storm.

Love,

Denise
