Pillowcases for Safe House “Sit and Sew”
Tomorrow
August 4, 2018 to begin following UFO about 10:30

Come join us for a fun day of sewing pillowcases.  Bring your own fabric or extra to share.  This is a great time to clean out your stash.  The Hot Dog Pillowcase pattern will be provided, however if you have your own pattern or method, feel free to use it.  Each pillowcase requires the following yardage:
body: 27" x width of fabric
cuff: 9" x width of fabric
trim: 2" x width of fabric (the trim is optional, some prefer 3" for trim, it is up to you)

Bring your sewing machine and sewing/cutting  supplies.  Sergers will be available as well.
Also, this will be a potluck event.   Keep it simple such as sandwiches or salads.  Drinks and paper products will be provided.  If you have any questions, contact Alicia Slayden at slaydena@yahoo.com
The Safe House really appreciates the pillowcase that have been previously donated.

SUMMER MYSTERY QUILT !!
You still have time to join in the fun. The 3rd clue is available tomorrow at 10 am.(or whenever you can get here) .. Come join us at the sit and sew.

This year's quilt is quite a bit easier than last year's, yet still gorgeous! And, perhaps best of all, it only requires only TWO FABRICS!! So, all you have to do is find two, high-contrast fabrics that coordinate well together, and get sewing! We will help you choose a pleasing combination, if you would like. Plus, you get to choose the size--throw, full/queen, or king! A list of yardage requirements and required supplies is available now, but the first clue will be available for pickup on Saturday, July 7. A new clue will be given out every other week, until the mystery is solved! A demo will be given at 10:00 a.m. on each "clue day," ONLY IF the clue needs explaining. Plus, you can use our monthly retreat sit 'n sew days to work on your mystery quilt! It is always more fun to sew together!

**There is no fee for participating in the Summery Mystery Quilt, but we would                              greatly appreciate it if you would purchase your required supplies, and preferably your fabric, too, from us.

**If you do purchase fabric elsewhere or pull from your stash, we ask that you                               please bring it in so we can make sure your chosen fabrics will work well in this pattern. We want you to be completely thrilled with your finished quilt!

**Clues must be picked up in person at the shop.

Gayla At “The Wooden Needle” has this Longarm Machine for sale.

$5,000.00   HQ16, HandiQuilter Midarm Quilting Machine, Stitch Regulator,Studio Table and Frame 12 foot, Micro Handles

I have had this machine for a while.  I used it at home until I opened my longarm quilting business. When I bought the machine, it was just the machine and the old table mount frame.  HandiQuilter added the stitch regulator ($2,000) and I purchased the studio table ($2,000).  This table does not have the new metal rails for the carriage to run on.  They are about $600 from HandiQuilter  It is set up in my store now and I do not use it anymore. If you are seriously interested and wish to come and try it out you may.  (Trenton, KY)   I must be picked up, I will not ship it.  I do not have the original boxes. Call Gayla for more information
